IN THE STUDIO WITH ANANDA KUHN
We are so excited to welcome artist Ananda Kuhn

Meet Ananda Kuhn
Ananda Kuhn (b. 1984, Porto Alegre) is a Brazilian multi-artist based in London. Focused on the black and white dichotomy of Taoism philosophy, she paints surrealistic landscapes, articulating memories of the places she visited with visual stimuli of pareidolic illusions.
She is a five times award-winning artist with a degree in Fine Arts by UFRGS in Porto Alegre/Brazil, and she was granted a year scholarship at the University of Lisbon/Portugal. Her curriculum includes more than 70 exhibitions, from solo shows to international art fairs, salons, and biennials. She had a variety of cultural job experiences such as to research about the Brazilian Architectural Heritage, to produce art collective`s shows, and to assist a relevant national artist and his production. Ananda`s artwork is part of public collections of the most important museums of South of Brazil, while Ocre Gallery has been fostering her career in her hometown.
Since she moved to the UK for the last two couples of years, she has been connecting art and wellbeing by running art sessions for the residents of care homes with the project Art Care. In addition, she is teaching printmaking techniques by workshops developed while she managed her art studio Diatribe Printmakers in Bristol. Ananda lived there during the pandemic, a flourishing moment for her creating not just on visual arts, but also on music, composing and playing drums in the two-piece rock band Altermoderns. The band`s name resumes her lifestyle: altermodernism is an art-term about how communication, travel and migration affect a way of living and creating art.
The art’beat studio is an open studio, pop in anytime to view works and meet the artists.
